We will discover the colonial jewel that is the city of Morelia, founded in 1531 with its Baroque-style Cathedral, the government palace with the impressive murals by Michoacan Alfredo Zalce, the Temple of Santa Rosa de Lima and its music conservatory. Visit the Jesuit convent, now the Clavijero Cultural Center with its murals and large patios. The Colegio de San Nicolás, a study center where important characters from the Mexican Independence taught. And finish at the Birthplace of Morelos, where we will learn more about our independence heroes. Duration: 9:30 - 13:00
Night Tour - Side streets & alley ways
Discover the legends that make up our city in a blend between history and modern life. We will walk along the famous side streets and alley ways in Morelia while listening to the famous legends told by our specialized guides accompanied by a Estudiantina - a musical group - who will delight our way through the Romance Alley. Get to know the magical towns of: - Tzintzuntzan: we will visit the Yacatas, archaeological zone of the Purepecha empire and the former Franciscan convent with its atrium of olive trees, open chapel and holy burial. - Patzcuaro: we will visit the Basilica, Mural of Juan O Gorman in the Public Library, Plaza Don Vasco House of the Eleven Patios, El Sagrario and the Old Colegio de San Nicolas Bishop. - Santa Clara del Cobre: we will visit the Copper Museum, we will participate with the artisans in the beating and we will have free time to shop in the stores. Duration from 8:30 to 19:30 Free time for lunch.
We will visit Capula, Santa Fe de la Laguna, Oponguio, Erongaricuaro and Tocuaro and we will learn about the different types of crafts that are made in each one of them, such as: - High-temperature ceramics with stitching technique - Catrinas - Artisanal mezcal - Clay workshop - Craft mask workshop Among many others... Paricutín Volcano Ruins & National Park
Visit the Paricutin Volcano, the Angahuan viewpoint and enjoy a walk through the ruins of San Juan Parangaricutiro. If you wish, you can make the journey by horse (cost not included). Finally, we will end in a visit to Uruapan, we will visit the Eduardo Ruiz National Park, the Rodilla del Diablo Spring where the Cupatitzio river is born, El Golgota waterfall and trutricola farm and fountains. Duration from 8:30 to 20:00. Free time for lunch.
